Review: Tony Moly Chok Chok Green Tea Watery Lotion

Are you one of those people that just gravitate towards all things green tea? Well, you’re not alone. The minute I saw this Green Tea Watery Lotion from Tony Moly, my insides screamed (that sounds quite weird)! I was looking for a face cream that was lightweight yet moisturizing. Then I came across this product and also the Innisfree Green Tea Balancing lotion. But this Tony Moly one was about half the price. So I decided to go for the cheaper one first! I have never tried the Innisfree one, so that may be something I’ll try next.

But let’s talk about this Tony Moly lotion! It contains 100% pure green tea ferment extract (instead of distilled water), hence providing moisture and antioxidants to the skin! I have used this lotion for about 6 months and I must say I love it very much. In fact this was the first korean skincare product I bought.

Physical appearance

It comes in a 160ml pump bottle. Cute & compact! It smells like a mild version of a cup of green tea, so if you’re a green tea fan like me, you’ll love it! I love it when skincare products are not drowned in fragrances, this one has the perfect intensity in my opinion.

Application & feel

The lotion is not drippy, but not thick like a cream. It’s very lightweight but provides just enough moisture to make your skin plump. It has a cooling effect after application, which I love!

Results

I’ve had this lotion for about 6 months now and I must say, I do love it lots! When I first started using it, I felt it was a little too lightweight for me because I have extremely dehydrated skin. The first few times I used this, my skin still remained flaky But after a week I can see some slight improvement. Now after about 6 months, all signs of flakiness are gone!

Ingredients

This lotion is free of parabens and according to CosDNA‘s  everything is pretty safe! (Click the link for full ingredient list).

How to use

I use it as my last step in my skincare regime. After facial oils & serums, I spread on a good layer of this lotion. I use it mostly at night, but it is light enough to use in the morning too! I just don’t because I have another face cream to use up.

After almost 6 months of use, I’m still left with about half of it, which can probably last me a good 4 more months (or even more!).

I purchased it on ebay from Roseroseau for AUD$14.50. Honestly, I think it’s quite value for money!

Rating: 8/10

Would I repurchase? I’m always wanting to try new products, so I probably won’t repurchase it!
